Although he’s had music out and available in the stratosphere, Merci is Siiren’s debut full body of work. A shadowy blend of melancholic themes and sample-laden production, the project proves to be cathartic, a diary of sorts, chronicling the highs, mids and bitter lows of a relationship; a skeleton he uses to develop and support his emotional muscles with.
In addition to more than scratching the surface on the topic of relationships, Merci explores the concept of confidence and self-worth, specifically on the entrance track, “4 Wheeling,” where Siiren proudly boasts, “Gettin’ to this guap on my own/No co-writers on this song…“
