Taste Test
The Yes Ma’ams released two singles on Valentine’s Day of 2012, and quickly followed up with the release of their debut EP, Taste Test. With the exception of “Only If I Say So,” “Believe Dat,” and “What Girls Are Made Of,” Taste Test was written and vocal produced by Etcetera Production Group and executive produced by Kevin “Coach K.” Lee.
Originally, Taste Test was a prelude to what would have been their debut album. Channeling some of the best of the ’80’s and early ’90’s pop/R&B stars, the ladies succeed in creating a cohesive and interesting sound. The girls opt to channel the spirit of the time without sacrificing originality.
The EP was recorded entirely in Atlanta, Georgia, between three studios, and mixed and mastered by Morgan Garcia at Downstairs Studio.
Although at the time, we wanted to the entire project (including the music) to be shrowded in mystery, in addition to being vocal produced by Etcetera, all tracks include background vocals by members of the team, with Trapcry helming production on “Right There (Interlude).”
